One Busy Weekend

The weekend started out Friday afternoon, just after my CA interview... of which I still don't know if I nailed it or not. Anyways. I decided that I wanted to see ZoZo at the International Cinema. And my roommates were busy. So I watched it by myself. I used to think that it was pathetic to see a movie by yourself, and now, I'm either so pathetic that I try to ignore it, or I've just come to the realization that it's empowering. It's like saying to the world, "I can do whatever I want, and I can do it on my own!". At least, that's how I feel... or at least it's my excuse. But it was a great movie. It had some awkward moments at the beginning, but it was a great movie. It made me feel connected to the world, and that's what a great movie does.
Saturday was a whirl wind. First I went to the Rex Lee Run at 7 am with Marie. I did check-ins for 2 hours, and then I cut apples. And then I tried to keep people off the track for the awards ceremony. I was not successful in that endeavor. I spent some time hanging out with D. Spencer at the awards ceremony. James Archibald MC-ed, and he did a really good job. They also had Stephen, also of HumorU. James made this great comment like, "come on people, we know you're fast...", as people weren't coming down fast enough.
After the run, I went to the Provo temple with Hayley. It was the best temple experience I have had thus far. Spiritually speaking, that is...
Then I ran to work for a couple of hours.
Then I ran home to change for the Relief Society birthday dinner. The Elder's Quorum served us dinner, and then they handed us the sweetest notes ever. The boys all got together and wrote nice things for us. I had some really sweet comments from Craig, Chris, and D. Spencer. I never thought that I'd like the ward, but it's men like them that make me feel apart of it.
After the dinner I ran down to the HFAC to watch the Men's and Women's Choruses with Megan. The women were alright and all, but it was the men that we went to see, and they didn't disappoint. It could have been the outfits, but it also could have been the acting they did in their Irish song. They also sang a Welsh song, that was not in Welsh but about Wales, that mentioned wanting to go home to the mountains of Wales. As per my Welsh teacher, there are no mountains in Wales. End of story.
Thus ended my very busy Saturday.
Sunday was awkward, to say the least. At least I think it's awkward when a high council speaker makes the ward rearrange itself in Sacrament Meeting in a boy-girl arrangement, having you greet each other, and then announcing that you could be sitting next to your eternal companion. All in a Sabbath Day's work, right?
