I've Been Awake for 45 Minutes

Last night I texted some people the question: "What is a fire crotch?"

Not because I didn't know.  I had used the term with Marie and a friend of ours and our friend had zero idea of what it meant.  When we explained it to her (and it took a lot of explaining...) she said that no one knows what that is.  I stated that everyone knew what it was, and to prove my point I texted a sample of 9 people from different backgrounds to ask, with the only qualification that there was a chance that they would get the text while they were still awake that night.

For fun, let's list some of the answers:
It's someone who has red pubic hair.  Like carrot top in your pants.
A redhead.  Because the carpet is presumed to match the drapes.  That became a thing a few years ago because of Lindsey Lohan, I think.
I would probably think either crotch rash (chafing) or some kind of STD.
It's a female ginger.
I think it's just like... really sexy?  I don't know.  Something to do with penises probably.
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!  It's a red head's crotch.

The correct answer is a red head's crotch.  But these answers were quite entertaining.

So, as I had only heard back from a few people before I was getting into bed, I decided to put my phone on alarm only so I wouldn't wake up every time a text came in.  And I also decided that because I had nothing to do this morning that I would set my alarm to 10am.  That way I could wake up whenever I naturally did but wouldn't sleep literally all day.  Apparently these were bad decisions.

I woke up at 9:45am to a dozen missed calls.  Because today was the first day of school for my boys at work.  And the bus never came.  And the staff member doesn't have a car so he couldn't take them to school.  And, on top of that, he couldn't call anyone about it because yesterday I took out the phone number sheet in the house book so I could find someone to work this Saturday from the comfort of my own home.  Because no one ever uses it anyway.

My boys were two hours late to school.  And I'm pretty sure that staff member is pissed.

Then I came home and read my email.  And I got this sweet gem:

Jessica -

I am just reviewing final grades from summer term and noted you are 2 points away from an A- for the course. Looking at your scores, I noticed you did not take the last 3 quizzes and did not do the last GTP. You did well on all other assignments in the course, so it seemed unusual that these last assignments would have been missed. I wondered if something came up that prevented you from doing these last assignments?

Dr. Richards

And while I had no good answer, I really appreciated that she checked in.  Often times I would remember I had a quiz due that night while I was at work, which would mean that I couldn't take the quiz because my shift ended after the quiz closed.  And the GTP I missed when it was bumped up ahead of schedule to be on the Friday that I was determined to go out of town.  Which I did, and it was glorious, and seems sucky that I would have an A- had I not gone, but if I hadn't gone I probably would be in a puddle on my floor right now sobbing.  All things vacation related will be revealed soon enough.
