So due to the fact that I'm allowed to work 20 hours a week, but only work about 10 and need more like 20 financially, I decided to pick up Megan's Saturday morning shift... from 6am to 11am. I'm not a morning person. Anyways.
So I get to work thinking that this is ridiculous because the cafeteria doesn't even open until 7 am on Saturdays, and what 18 year old is going to be checking their mail at 6 in the freaking morning? It gets better. I go to open the door to the mail room where we keep the cash box and where I tend to store my stuff (and where we hold the packages), and the door is locked. And I don't have a key to it. Story of my life. See, the key was in my purse when it got stolen, and over the break I had a key because I had the CSA set that let me into every door. But then they took away the keys to give them to someone who was actually a CSA, and now I'm left without. But, why would the mail girl need a key anyways? Especially to the mail room? Afterall, it's the 6 am desk attendant that unlocks it.
So then I go to count in to Cashnet, and because I can't get to the cash drawer keys in the back I decide to open Cashnet (although this would be useless, as I'm pretty sure I won't make any transactions), and my password is expired. Which means that my boss needs to call and have it reset. Which doesn't happen on the weekends, especially this early in the morning. So if someone wants to buy a stamp, I get to turn them away. And unless I can convince the kitchen staff to break into the back door of the mail room for me, I'll get to refuse them their packages, too.
Welcome, Minnie!!
