Different Tastes

I'm a big fan of the BYU MOA. I spent 4 hours a week there last spring term. I've seen every exhibit that has been displayed since I've been at BYU. I love the smell of the MOA. I like the temperature of the MOA. I simply love the MOA.

Keeping with my tradition of seeing every exhibit, today I went to see the new Southwest exhibit, knowing fully that I hate Southwestern anything. I came to the realization that some people like things like:

My dad, for example, is a big fan of Southwest everything. Especially if it's geometric and light colored. However, I like things that are bright and unique, a la Dan Steinhilber:
I like modern art. Or, contemporary, I suppose. I like that the piece on top is made solely out of duck sauce packets. And I like that the piece on the bottom is solely made out of different sizes of balloons. I like the everyday aspect of them, the fact that they're household items turned into art. I like how they make me feel: like the whole world is open to interpretation.
