The Troll

One of my 20 something goals for this year happens to be "post in my blog ten times a month." Silly, yes, but a goal that is reachable nonetheless. While I find I have less interesting things to say now a days, as I seem to have given up on dating for the next year and have beaten the horse to death over feminism and figuring out my life, I don't want to write useless posts for the sake of posting. This may be useless, but it takes up quite a bit of my life anyway.

Did you know that I got a new roommate? Marie moved to DC to do some student teaching and in her place I got Selina. I've actually been pretty blessed, as had Marie left me with any other group of roommates that we've had so far (excepting Stadium Terrace 17) I probably would have had a complete meltdown. In fact, I don't think I've written about any of my roommates yet. Let's review them.

On the left is Jess. Jess served a mission in Guatemala, loves speaking Spanish, studies Public Health, hales from Kansas and owns a SodaStream that allows her to turn water into carbonated soda. Next is Sarah. She and Jess have known each other since their freshman year. Sarah happens to be from Newberry Park, which is only about 20 minutes away from where I'm from. She also grew up knowing Rochelle. She, like me, is a PDBio major, but is taking some time off and working at PF Chang's. She spends her days reading in bed and tells stories with great animation. Next in line is Cami, who is like, 20. She is bright, cheerful and loving. She is engaged and in love, and she likes to exclaim how in love with love she is! She too, makes some of the best faces known to man, and is excellent at tucking people in at night. She grew up with Tina, the girl on the right. They are both from Las Vegas. Tina is a nursing major and is engaged! Tina is smart and quiet. Cami and Tina moved in to Jess and Sarah's Stadium Terrace apartment one year and moved in together this year to my apartment!

And this is Selina. Selina trained Jess and Sarah at Independent Study. She just spent a semester in Russia. She tends to wake me up in the middle of the night with her extremely loud farts. We've talked about that in depth.

Anywho, Selina's family was going through her mom's cedar chest over Christmas. Inside they found this nast troll. Like this one, but it was naked and had spider legs in its hair:

Selina apparently got really creeped out when she saw it, and her older siblings thought that it was so funny that they started hiding it in her stuff. She would throw it away one night just to find it in her show the next. Several nights after she moved in to the apartment she was cuddling her bear that has a little velcro pouch in the back of it. She opened it up and found the troll. For some reason the first thing out of my mouth was "LET'S HIDE IT IN SARAH'S BOOT!!!" We couldn't find her boots, so we put it in her bed under her pillow instead. She was weirded out. Since then the troll has made the rounds:

Sarah put it in my bed
I put it in the fridge
Selina put it in the living room candy jar
Jess put it in the dishwasher under a clean dish
Tina hung it with tape from Jess and Sarah's bedroom ceiling
Sarah put it in Cami's bra
Cami put it in Tina's Capri Sun box
Tina put it somewhere and eventually it was in someone's make up bag
I put it on Sarah's night stand by the alarm clock
I put it in my apron pocket for safe keeping until I got home from church to hide it
Cami found it in my apron and hid it in my closet
And I took it and stuck it in the cardboard center of an unopened roll of toilet paper.
Selina found it and thought it was too good so she left it.
Jess found it and had it hanging on the wall while she figured out a place to put it.

And this is how we keep ourselves occupied these days.

Actually... after it was in Cami's bra, she put it in my tampon box, and then I put it in your closet. You're welcome ;)
