I've decided that Marie and I need to increase our marriageability so we've decided to start learning to cook. We've agreed that every Thursday we'll cook something new together. We'll learn basic cooking skills (how to peel garlic, how to tenderize chicken with balsamic vinegar, how to properly chop an onion, etc) and learn what foods we do and do not like.
Our first Thursday Dinner was Chicken Cacciatore (pronounced chicken catch-a-torie). It's basically a pasta dish with chicken and portobello mushrooms (by the way: do you know how expensive portobello mushrooms are? $4.99 a lb!). We also made our own salad dressing with balsamic vinegar, garlic and olive oil.

The pasta was good. I mean, it was pasta so I don't really know if it can ever be described as delicious. But the mushrooms were yummy and so was the chicken. The salad dressing was interesting... in the future I'll probably just use Kraft.

All in all... I like Thursday cooking nights. It makes me feel like I can finally reach into the depths of my inner subdued femininity past the ultra feminist self.
