Development

So I grew up with my friend Camille.  I remember playing at her house when we were little, going to her birthday party, etc.  I remember reconnecting with her in high school when we both went to seminary.  Eventually Camille grew up, got married and had a baby.  She is married to George.  George and I have had a few classes together at BYU and frequently share frustrations about the MCAT.

George hooked me up with a job.

From the sound of it I watch over a couple of people that live in a house together with different disabilities.  Our training includes what to do when someone has a seizure, how to restrain people and first aid/CPR.  The company owns quite a few different houses and turn over must be somewhat high or something, because they seem to do training every week and my training group has eight people.

My training group is weird.

One of the guys just got back from his mission and moved up here for school.  With his wife.  But he JUST got back from his mission.  He also likes to mention that he was out of the country on an LDS mission.  About once an hour.

There's a lady that seems to need more help than she can provide for someone else.  She can't seem to talk in a normal indoor voice, and whenever she says something she says it to the whole class.  Frequently she yells out "I'VE GOT TO GO TO THE BATHROOM AGAIN!"  She also doesn't understand how to put her phone on silent and it rings with some sort of anime soundtrack.  While she was filling out the tax paperwork she got the number 4.  I got 2:  I am filing my taxes as a single person and no one can claim me as a dependent.  Other things your number goes up for are having more than one job or having children.  She exclaimed that her number was too high and that she didn't want the government keeping her money so she insisted that she should put down 0 instead.  I told her that if she did that then she might owe money when she filed her taxes because she hadn't paid enough through the year.  She didn't understand this concept and it took the new RM to tell her she should just be honest.  I have a feeling she put 0.

The last weirdie sits by me.  Before he sat down he asked me if I bite.  What?  He seems to be in the reserves for something and references basic training and policies the military has.  He can't be more than 19 or 20.  He wears a necklace made out of metal balls and has a goatee.  He also has a volume control problem and feels the need to ask questions that can easily be answered by reading the instructions in our paperwork.  I wonder if he passed the drug test portion of training.

One day of training down, three more to go.
