Fast Sunday

Today is fast Sunday.  It also happens to be my last Sunday in Provo for the foreseeable future.  Today as I was getting dressed I spied an Andes mint on my dresser.  I was hungry so I thought about eating it, when I quickly reminded myself that it was fast Sunday.  And this of course, reminded me of an experience I had as a youth.

I must have been 12 or 13.  Maybe a little older, because I don't remember Sabrina being there.  I was back living in Oxnard.  I was sitting next to Marie in Young Women's with Sister Perez standing in the front of the room giving announcements or something.  I opened my scriptures and found some Smarties.  I quickly started eating them because I was hungry.  I offered some to Marie, who very casually said, "no thank you, I'm fasting."  Then I was like, "asdhg;oadvaoha!" because I had been too, which was why I was hungry.  This also explained why Sister Perez had been staring at me with a fake frozen smile on her face.

And just like that, things come full circle once again.
